ZenTRACK Power – Installation Guide (Step-by-Step)

1. Standard Accessories Introduction

2. LED indicator & SIM Card Slot

Note: Indicator lights will go out automatically after the tracker turns on for 8 min.

Pre-Installation Checklist

✅ Vehicle is parked and turned off
✅ You have access to the battery or OBD-II port
✅ SIM card is inserted (if required)
✅ Mobile app or desktop portal credentials ready for setup

Pre-Installation Notes

  1. SIM Card Data Service: Ensure that the SIM card used in the ZenTRACK Power has data service enabled.

  2. SIM Card PIN: If the SIM card is locked with a PIN, unlock it before installation.

  3. SIM Card Balance: Confirm that there is sufficient balance in the SIM card for operation.

SIM Card Installation

  1. Open the Rubber Stopper: Locate the rubber stopper on the side of the ZenTRACK Power device and open it to access the SIM card slot.

  2. Insert the SIM Card:

    • Insert the SIM card by following the direction icon printed on the tracker cover. Ensure it fits properly in the designated slot.

    • Push the SIM card gently until you hear a “click” sound, indicating the SIM card is securely inserted.

  3. Close the Rubber Stopper: Once the SIM card is securely installed, close the rubber stopper to protect the SIM card slot.

Device Installation

  1. Positioning the ZenTRACK Power:

    • Ensure that the device is installed with the top side (marked with the "TOP SIDE" logo) facing upwards and not shielded by any metallic objects, which could interfere with the device's signal.

    • Avoid installation near emission sources such as sensors, burglar alarms, or other communication devices that might affect the tracking performance.

  2. Verify Tracker Orientation: Make sure the tracker is correctly oriented, with the "TOP SIDE" facing upward, to ensure proper signal reception.

Power and Connectivity Checks

  1. External Power Connection:

    • Check the external power voltage to ensure the tracker is connected to a reliable power source.

    • Confirm that the vehicle has entered a network-covered area. The ZenTRACK Power should be able to connect to the network seamlessly when in range.

  2. SIM Card and Data Service:

    • Check the balance of the tracker SIM card and ensure it supports the necessary network services for communication.

    • If the device experiences disconnection at the end of the month, verify if the carrier has terminated the network service due to exceeding the data usage limit.

  3. Unable to Locate Issues:

    • If the tracker is unable to locate the vehicle, check the positioning of the device to ensure the "TOP SIDE" is not blocked by metal objects.

    • Ensure that the vehicle is not located in an area without satellite coverage.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Unable to Connect to Tracking Platform:

    • Check the APN and IP settings to ensure they are correctly configured for your tracking platform.

    • Verify the SIM card’s compatibility with the network and confirm that the necessary data services are enabled.

    • Ensure there are no restrictions on the server IP and that the IP is added to the whitelist when using a M2M SIM card.

    • Check the SIM card balance or network signal to confirm connectivity.

  2. Tracker Shows Offline:

    • Confirm the SIM card’s balance and the tracker’s network signal. A weak or no signal can cause the tracker to appear offline.

    • Ensure the vehicle is not located in a network blind area.

  3. Location Drift:

    • If the vehicle is in an area with a poor GNSS signal (such as an area surrounded by high buildings), location drift may occur. Once the vehicle moves to an open area, the drift should correct itself.

Post-Installation Checks

  1. Confirm Power Supply: Ensure the ZenTRACK Power is receiving external power and is active.

  2. Verify GPS and Network Signal: Confirm that the device is sending location data to the tracking platform. If the device remains offline or experiences connectivity issues, check the SIM card balance and network signal as the first troubleshooting steps.

By following these steps, the ZenTRACK Power should be successfully installed and ready for use. If you encounter issues during installation or setup, refer to the troubleshooting section or contact support for further assistance.
