Solution
How does this solution work?
The ZenBUS application works by communicating with telematic hardware installed on the shuttle. The hardware will transmit real-time data of the bus’ activity/location along with various other information. This information will be gathered and relayed into the application for passengers to easily digest.
Common questions and concerns that can be answered by ZenBUS
“I want to be better plan my mornings without the fear of missing the bus”
“I want to know when the bus is running late or canceled”
“What is the estimated arrival time of the bus at my stop?”
“Can I track the bus if I’m running late?”
Web App
The web app is an efficient way to access shuttle and route information on the go, and can be accessed through any web browser.
Accessing the Web App
To access the web app, shuttle bus services will provide a link or QR code to view their routes. For example, suppose the bus service shared the following link, which displays North American routes: https://zenbus.zenduit.com/main/shared/map/subdomain. You should see the following map with a list of routes on the left sidebar.
Navigating the Web App
From the landing screen, clicking on a route on the left will display the full route on the map and any details regarding the route.
Route details include bus name, stop information, ETA for each stop, a map view of the route, and live bus location.
Mobile App
The mobile app provides the same shuttle and route information as the web app, but also includes notifications to your mobile device.
Accessing the Mobile App
To access the mobile app, first download ZenBUS from the App Store or Google Play. When you open the app, you will see two service options ("Shuttle" and "School Bus"). Select “Shuttle". Next, select the location you would like to access bus routes for. This takes you to the same map view that you would see in the web app.
Navigating the Mobile App
To view the list of routes, tap the search bar at the top of the screen. Then, select the route you want to view from the dropdown. This will show you a map view of the selected route, including a live location of the shuttle.
To view stop information, tap the grey tab near the bottom. This shows the stop order, locations, and ETAs.
Notifications
Set Notifications
In the mobile app, you can set notifications for specific stops. To do so, view the stop details for a route, as shown above. Then, tap or swipe left on a stop to uncover the "Notify Me" button for that stop.
Once you tap "Notify Me", select the time window you'd like to be notified about that stop. After saving, you will receive a confirmation.
View Notification History
On the bottom menu of the App, there will be a “Notifications” tab. This is where you will find a log/history of all notifications.
