Update CP4 Firmware

This article explains how to update the firmware for CP4.

Steps

  1. Download the CP4 Configuration Tool
  2. Open the Configuration Tool software
  3. Press the 'Initialize SD Card' button
  4. Choose the SD card driver and press 'OK'
  5. Have a check mark on the boxes for 'Quick Format' and 'No Configuration File'
  6. Press Start
This will erase all the data on the SD, so if you have any important data, please back it up first. 

Next steps

  1. Download the CP4 Firmware here
  2. Extract the ZIP file and copy CP4_***.img file
  3. Open SD card root folder called “FHDRM”
  4. Find the “program” folder, and paste the CP4_****.img file into it
  5. Safe eject the SD and insert it into the unit and close the SD card door
  6. Power on the device if it is not already on.
  7. After the bootup process, the device will install firmware and you will see the green and blue LED lights alternating a blink sequence.
  8. During the FW update DO NOT TURN OFF the unit.
  9. Once the FW update completes, the device will reboot and should reach the solid blue and solid green lights after a couple of minutes.
