Mount an auxiliary camera (Surfsight Z6)

Mount an auxiliary camera (Surfsight Z6)

Once you've connected the auxiliary camera to a power source and paired it with the dashcam, mount the camera.

  • Mounting at different spots of the vehicle enables tracking and video recording of additional perspectives during trips.

  • Up to four (4) auxiliary cameras can be paired with each dashcam.

This article describes how to mount:

Mounting rear cameras

Note

You can purchase additional hose clamps and connect them to rear cameras instead of using a mounting bracket.

Screw the mounting bracket attached to the camera into the vehicle structure at the desired location. The weight of the camera will destroy the skin panels on the doors.

Note

Ensure there is some slack in the cable to allow for adjustment.

Mounting side cameras

Note

You can purchase additional mounting brackets from Lytx®, Inc. and connect them to side cameras instead of using hose clamps.

  1. Place the silicone pad along the top of the camera.

The silicone pad has ridges that enable you to cushion the camera when using the hose clamps for installation, provides a better seal, and prevents scratching.

  2. Slide the hose clamps through the slots at the top of the camera.
