SurfSight: How install auxiliary cameras?

Here are some ways how to connect aux camera

WiFi auxiliary cameras

WiFi auxiliary cameras pair to the dashcam through WiFi, and do not need to be physically connected to a router. Using WiFi makes installation easier.

In unobstructed environments we recommend using the WiFi auxiliary camera models to connect to the dashcam hotspot if the distance between the auxiliary cameras and the hotspot is not more than ten meters.

Wired auxiliary cameras

Wired auxiliary cameras are hardwired to a router, which in turn should be paired to the dashcam. If the auxiliary camera is going to be mounted farther than ten meters from the dashcam, or with a lot of metal in between, use the wired option. This increases reliability.

Side auxiliary cameras

Side cameras come with hose clamps and a silicone pad. They are mounted on the mirrors of the vehicle.

Rear auxiliary cameras

Rear cameras come with a mounting bracket. They are screwed onto the vehicle, generally in the back.

Note

Auxiliary camera mounting brackets are different than dashcam mounting brackets. They cannot be used interchangeably.
