This guide walks you through the process of enabling Zen Beacon KKM family BLE beacons to work with ZenTrack asset trackers. Once configured, the asset tracker will scan and forward BLE beacon signals to the ZenduOne platform for live tracking and monitoring.
Active ZenTrack asset tracker installed and communicating on ZenduOne
Zen Beacon (KKM Family) device(s) powered on
Access to the DMS Portal for sending commands
Access to the ZenduOne Platform with appropriate permissions
To enable BLE beacon scanning on the ZenTrack device, send the following command from the DMS Portal:
BLEBEACON,3#
๐ Note: This command enables the ZenTrack to start scanning for BLE beacon signals (KKM family format).
๐ท Refer to the image below for where to send the command in the DMS Portal:
Once BLE scanning is enabled:
Go to ZenduOne โ Assets โ BLE Beacons
Click on Add New BLE Beacon
Enter the required details:
Beacon ID / MAC Address
Name/Label
Beacon Type (Choose KKM)
Click Save
This step registers the beacon so that data from the ZenTrack tracker is properly associated with this asset.
After the setup:
The ZenTrack device will start scanning and sending nearby BLE beacon data to ZenduOne
You can verify this under Assets โ BLE Beacons โ Live Data
It may take a few minutes for the data to appear depending on the device reporting interval and signal strength
Ensure that the beacon is powered and within range of the asset tracker
Confirm that the ZenTrack is online and recently reported
Check the last seen timestamp for the BLE beacon in ZenduOne
Issue | Solution |
---|---|
No beacon data showing | Confirm BLEBEACON,3# command was sent successfully |
Device not scanning | Reboot tracker or re-send the command |
Incorrect Beacon Info | Double-check MAC/ID and type in ZenduOne |
