| Unplug the GO device from the vehicle and remove the IOX expansion port cover on your GO device. | |
| Plug the 90° USB connector from the IOX-WRKS into the GO device and then secure the USB connector using a zip tie. Do not overtighten the zip tie, as this can damage the USB connector. ✱ NOTE: Insert the USB connector in the orientation displayed in the image.

| To interface with Material Spreaders or Temperature Sensing equipment, use the primary port. The secondary DB9 port is only used to connect a temperature device when the primary port is connected to a controller. Spreader integration documentation is available here.
| |
| To interface with Parker, Muncie, Genesis, and Marwis systems, use the CAN bus connection. Spreader integration documentation is available here. | |
| Connect telemetries from the vehicle to the inputs (labeled AUX 5 to AUX 8) on the IOX-WRKS, following the required input mapping. If more than four inputs are required, an additional IOX-AUXM can be added for AUX 1 to AUX 4. Do not cut the loop if adding this cable. The inputs are color-coded as follows: - AUX 1 or 5 = Blue
- AUX 2 or 6 = Orange
- AUX 3 or 7 = Green
- AUX 4 or 8 = White
- IGN_BATT = Red-White
- GND = Black
! IMPORTANT: DO NOT CONNECT IGN_BATT OR GND TO VEHICLE POWER! The IOX-WRKS receives its power from the GO device. Connecting the IGN_BATT or GND wires on the IOX-WRKS to vehicle power can result in damage to the IOX-WRKS and the GO device, and may void the warranties of both. The purpose of the IGN_BATT and GND wires on the IOX-WRKS is to provide a convenient power connection point (power OUT) for external sensors, such as plow or spreader sensors. Click here for more details.
IGN_BATT and GND are available to provide power/ground to sensors (650mA max load). Do not connect to vehicle power or ground! Required input mapping: - AUX 5 (GND input) — Belly plow or manual spreading
- AUX 6 (+12/24 Ve input) — Front plow
- AUX 7 (+12/24 Ve input) — Wing plow
- AUX 8 (+12/24 Ve input) — Tow plow or Beacon
- AUX 1 to 4 — Available with additional IOX-AUXM
Solder all connections, and insulate with heat-shrink or tape. Corrosion resistance is critical in winter operation conditions. Please complete all precautions to ensure equipment and connections have adequate corrosion resistance. Additional documentation for sensor and sensor mounting can be found here. ! IMPORTANT: The input must be active when the monitored equipment is in operation — for example, when the plow is down = 12 V.
If the IGN_BATT wire is used, you must tell this to Geotab Support in Step 8 below.
| Connect any additional IOX cables and daisy chain them together using the termination shunts. The termination resistor must remain in the shunt of the last cable. Once all IOX cables are connected to the GO device, plug in the GO device and immediately start the vehicle. The GO device enters debug mode — indicated by six short beeps. Please allow 3 to 5 minutes for the device to wake, establish connectivity, and update firmware before proceeding to the next step. | |
| Once the device is ready — the red, green, and blue LEDs are solid and the device is no longer beeping — configure the IOX-WRKS, and test all data and telemetry inputs.
| |
| ✱ NOTE: The IOX-WRKS will not function until a material spreader specific configuration is loaded. The configuration can be loaded on the Spreader Add-in page (Client approval is required). Alternatively, you can contact support for this process, and also to verify data flow and telemetry to complete the install. ! IMPORTANT: If the IGN_BATT wire was used in step 4 above, enable it on the Spreader Add-in page if the firmware on IOX-WRKS is v24 or newer. You can also inform GoZenSupport of this information so they can enable this wire with an extra command (Provisioning Step 12).
After a spreader configuration has been successfully set, set the material spreader into SIM/Operation Mode as described in the spreader-specific documentation. Trigger and verify each input one at a time with support.
| Once the locators have been properly tested and configured, ensure all cables are safely secured with a cable tie, place the dash panels in their original positions, and clean the cab so it is ready for the customer. ✱ NOTE: If the device is not communicating, please ensure the device is installed correctly and then try again.
